Colm Ó Snodaigh - Flute, vocals, whistle

'Obi Wan' Colm originally qualified as a physiotherapist before his true musical vocation took hold of him. His instruments are flute, whistle, harmonica, saxophone and djembe. He also sings. He has played league of Ireland Football and his current position is midfield general. Quite brainy, he is rumoured to have been the man that IBM hired to hide inside the box they called Big Blue when they beat Kasparov at chess. Being of a scientific disposition, his favorite colours are black and white. His favorite number is n.

Colm joined Kíla in 1988. He qualified and was a practising Physiotherapist, a sports journalist, league of Ireland Soccer player and Board Manager until 1997. Colm has written a book of short stories, recorded a solo album and is still working on his second album. Colm has written scores for film, theatre and dance companies.

Colm had his own sports column in Anois, (a former Irish Sunday newspaper) and has also Contributed articles to Magazines Mahogamy Gaspipes, Feasta, Comhair, An Tultach, Magma, Barfly, In jest, Agus and a new magazine called Source.

Wrote book of short stories entitled, 'Turasoireacht'.
Recently, completed series of 8 programmes titled ceol chaint for Radio 1 Interviewing Irish speaking musicians.

An established singer songwriter, he released a solo album in Irish "Eist" in 1994. He has written material for Kíla and composed for The Rubato Theatre company and Macnas.
