Preachers Son

Preachers Son - Single X For Sandra

Preachers Son are Brian Hogan (Kíla) on guitar and vocals, Emmaline Duffy-Fallon (previously of Engine Alley) on drums and vocals and José Carlos Anselmo Flores from Seville on bass and violin.

Together since early 2009 and gathering momentum with their dynamic live shows, they are frequently joined on stage by guest musicians Kieran Kennedy (Black Velvet, Hothouse Flowers) and Dara Munnis (Doctor Leaves, The Coronas, Jack L).

Their sound is like a David Byrne, Scott Walker collaboration, or Queen's greatest hits circa 1980 vs Morrison Hotel. A bit angsty,  a wee bit ska, rock, blues, country, punk, croon, Mars (God of War). A Led Zeppelin / Leonard Cohen crossover sort of Johnny Cash, Bowie doing Talking Heads kinda thing.

Their debut album "Life, Love and Limb" is currently having the final touches made by Dave Bascombe in London (Placebo, Korn, Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode) and will be released under Reekus Records late summer 2010. Guest artists on the album include Gavin Friday and Liam Ó Maonlaí. Single “X For Sandra” out April 16th 2010.

Brian Hogan is actually a real flesh and blood preacher's son. His dad was Larry Hogan who was part of the Irish 60's folk scene with his group We 4. In 1974 he scored a number one album Simple Song Of "Love, which led him to preaching and teaching through music before he died in 1998 - the band's name was chosen in his memory.
